This privacy policy applies to the Car Fix OBD2 mobile application ("App") developed by the developer ("we", "us", "our").

1. Information We Do NOT Collect

Car Fix OBD2 does not collect, store, or transmit any of the following:

Personal identification information (name, email, phone number)
Location data from your device
Vehicle identification data (VIN, license plate, GPS location)
OBD-II diagnostic data - all scan data stays on your device
Contacts, photos, or files from your device

2. Data Stored on Your Device

DTC search history: Stored locally only on your device using app storage
Maintenance log entries: Stored in a local SQLite database
Favorites: Your favorite DTC codes are saved locally
Language preferences: Saved in device SharedPreferences
Free trial status: Tracked via a local file to provide 1 free code preview

All this data is never transmitted outside your device.

3. Permissions Used

Bluetooth / Bluetooth Admin	Connect to ELM327 OBD2 Bluetooth adapters to read vehicle diagnostic codes
Bluetooth Scan / Connect (Android 12+)	Scan for nearby Bluetooth OBD2 devices
Internet / Network State	Access to YouTube repair tutorials and advertisement display (AdMob)
Microphone (Record Audio)	Voice search - speaks the DTC code to search (user-initiated, not background)
WiFi State / Change WiFi State	Connect to WiFi-based OBD2 adapters (ELM327 WiFi)
Notifications	Maintenance reminders (oil change alerts - scheduled by user)
Access Network State	Verify device connectivity before online features

4. Third-Party Services

Google AdMob: We use Google AdMob to display non-intrusive banner advertisements for free users. AdMob may collect anonymous device information for ad serving purposes. Please refer to Google's Privacy Policy.

YouTube: The app links to YouTube for repair tutorial videos. YouTube may collect data as per their privacy policy.

5. In-App Purchases

Car Fix OBD2 offers subscription plans ($2.99/month or $29.99/year) through Google Play Billing. All payment processing is handled securely by Google. We do not have access to your payment information.

6. Data Security

All vehicle diagnostic data remains on your device. We do not have servers or cloud storage for user data. Your OBD-II scan results, code searches, and maintenance records are not accessible by us or any third party.

7. Children's Privacy

This app is not directed at children under 13 years of age.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected here with an updated date.
